A quote commonly attributed to Pablo Picasso encourages us to "learn the rules like a pro so [we] can break them like [artists]." In the same vein, I encourage you to to know your comfort zone so that you may effectively step outside it. Work outside it. Not haphazardly, but with purpose and intent.

I've argued before that self-actualization is rarely achieved inside the comfort zone. It is when we venture into uncharted territory that we truly discover what we are made of. We can follow existing tracks, or make our own. Let us create occasions to which we boldly rise, welcoming adversity as an ally while striving to make our dreams reality.
