Your Inner Critic: Enemy or Ally

Many people are familiar with their inner critic, the voice that breathes life into a self-sabotaging narrative, often at moments most inopportune.
“You’re not good enough.”
“You’re not smart enough.”
“You’re not strong enough.”
For some, the voice is merely a whisper, and not one to be taken too seriously. For others, it’s a relentless shouting, drowning out any voice with an opinion to the contrary.
It is in the midst of this shouting that people often get stuck, incapacitated by a force from which they feel only judgment and discouragement. And of course they would feel this way! How else might someone respond to a voice seemingly resolute in preventing one’s greatest aspirations?
What if there were another approach?
If I’m describing you, then as a coaching client, some of the most powerful work you will do starts with a mind-bending reframe:
Your inner critic is not an enemy to be defeated. It is an ally to be embraced.
If your inner critic is nagging at you and stopping you in your tracks when you’re finally feeling ready to take that next step, send me an e-mail. Schedule a call. Take back the reins and change your relationship to that voice. The power is yours.
